Supplier's News: February 2013

February 28, 2013

Greensboro, N.C.-based Volvo Trucks North America, Greensboro, N.C., announced that it has increased the work capacity of its western U.S. locations by 15 percent since January 2010, including the addition of nearly 80 truck service bays, 135 Volvo-certified technicians and nearly a 22 percent increase in parts inventory. As part of this expansion, Volvo recently opened its La Merida full-service dealership, which includes a 14,000-square-foot warehouse featuring more than $5 million in parts inventory and 45 service bays staffed by 37 technicians, five of which are Volvo master technicians, in Los Angeles and a parts facility in Sylmar, Calif., which houses nearly $500,000 in inventory. The company also plans to open a body shop, leasing facility and repair facility in Fontana, Calif., a new 13,000-square-foot parts and service center in Battle Mountain, Nev., and a body shop, sales and service center, and all-make parts center in Portland, Ore.

Mettler Toledo, Urdorf, Switzerland, released a webinar titled “State-of-the-Art Operating Cycle Management,” which educates brewers and carbonated soft drink producers about increasing operational uptime and saving costs with in-line carbon dioxide measurement systems. The webinar is available on-demand on the company’s website.

Railex USA, New York, and Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Woodinville, Wash., have partnered to develop a temperature-controlled, rail-based system to transport wine efficiently and sustainably across the United States. The project’s cornerstone is a new wine services distribution center, which opened in February in Wallula, Wash.

Deacom Inc., Wayne, Pa., announced that it has updated its software to accommodate the needs of the mid-tier process manufacturing industry segment. The new software includes multi-national, multi-facility, multi-company and multi-lingual functionality that allows global enterprise-wide operations the process control they need within one system solution.

Air Logic Power Systems LLC, Milwaukee, partnered with Bonfiglioli Engineering, Ferrara, Italy, to increase product and service offerings in the leak-testing segment of beverage production and expand international market presence to better serve a broad, global range of markets.

ChicagoMaterialHandling.com has been selected as an online distributor of Ontario-based Superlift Material Handling Inc.’s stainless steel lift product line. The Superlift product line offers a full line of lift tables, column lifts, powered pallet trucks, lift trucks, manlifts and other specialty lifting devices.
