Fortitech Inc., Schenectady, N.Y., won an Internet Advertising Competition award from the Web Marketing Association, Boston, for its “The Ultimate Fortification Destination” campaign. “The Best Food Industry Online Campaign,” which launched in early 2005, was designed to promote interest and understanding of the nutritional resources, such as online research and development, custom formulation worksheets, order tracking and the latest news on regulations and market trends, available on Fortitech’s Web site. The campaign featured traditional full-page advertisements, e-mail blasts, hot-linked Web banners, buttons and skyscrapers on Web sites and e-newsletters.
The Flax Lignan Association, a new trade organization, has been formed to support the science
and safety behind standardized flax lignan ingredients. The ground was
founded by flax lignan ingredient producers
Acatris Inc. and Archer
Daniels Midland Co. Membership is open to other
interested, qualified flax lignan manufacturers, and the association will
launch a Web site to promote its activities.
“The Flax Lignan Association will promote the
valuable health benefits associated with daily intake of flax lignans,
support clinical studies essential to establishing and advancing the
benefits of flax lignans, and work collaboratively on developing a central
resource for safety data and allergens,” said Laurent Leduc,
president of the North America health division at Acatris.
Ajinomoto USA has received
the Orthodox Union’s National Kashrut (Kosher) Leadership Award, highlighting the
relationship between the groups. OU President Stephen J. Savitsky commented:
“The respect for the company worldwide is duplicated here at the OU
where we regard it as a premier manufacturer of quality products.”
InterHealth Nutraceuticals Inc., Bencia, Calif., has appointed Daniel Murray vice president
of sales - food and beverage.
