Inspection System

Omron Electronics has introduced the F270 vision system, which integrates into one unit two CPUs with as many as four high-speed cameras, two independent triggers and dual real-time position compensation ASICs to capture images in 8 to 16 milliseconds in either field or frame mode. The dual CPUs allow the F270 system to inspect two targets simultaneously with no reduction of production speed. Reaching speeds as fast as 5,000 parts per minute, the F270 is recommended for high-speed processing lines.

Multi-layered hose
NewAge Industries has introduced Silvac silicone suction hose manufactured with platinum-cured silicone elastomer. Previously produced with peroxide-cured silicone, Silvac now offers a level of purity and hose surface for unrestricted fluid flow. The durable, multi-layered hoses are recommended for applications such as hot- or cold-fill lines, pharmaceutical and food processing, chemical transfer, viscous material handling, vacuum systems, and beverage and dairy service. Silvac hoses may be used at temperatures ranging from -80°F to 350°F. Offering a vacuum rating of 29.9 inches of mercury at 70°F, the hose is available in five popular sizes from 1/2-inch through 2-inch interior dimension, and 12-foot lengths are standard.

Rotary union available
Duff Norton offers the 5000ASM Series Rotary Union, recommended for highly abrasive fluid applications. The ASM seal features a tungsten carbide face ring against a siliconized graphite seal ring, which can offer protection against grooving. Other features include a stainless steel wetted construction and hardware, fluorocarbon o-rings and two precision bearings.  All sizes can be adapted to dual- flow applications with the addition of a stainless steel elbow.  Operating parameters range as high as 395Þ, 750 psi, and 3,600 rpm for various models. Sizes range from 1/4 inch to 2 inches.

Collapsible container
Linpac Materials has introduced the Ropak 3A Series of reusable, collapsible containers that feature a 32-inch by 30-inch footprint. The 3A Series, which features load capacities as heavy as 2,000 pounds, is available in four heights: 25 inches, 30 inches, 34 inches and 39 inches. Other features include non-sequential folding sidewalls secured by universal latches that can be operated both outside and inside the container. The 3A Series containers offer two hinged drop doors on the 32-inch side. The containers also offer four-way forklift access. Additionally, the containers are available with either a conveyable two-way or four-way forklift entry base. All Ropak 3A Series containers are made of tough, durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and can be stacked six high without racking.

Compact marker
ID Technology recently added MACSA Series F-1000 Laser Systems to its coding and marking line of products. Featuring a compact design and adjustable marking head, the F-1000 systems are recommended for complicated production lines and environments.
Additionally, with MACSA's software, multiple F-1000 systems can be linked for marking labels, cardboard, PET, glass or wood.

Large-character printer
Videojet Technologies Inc. has introduced the Marsh 8000 large- character ink jet printer. The Marsh 8000 is a versatile, modular, large-character ink jet printing system that prints high-resolution large characters and bar codes for outer-case coding on shipping containers and corrugated cartons. The system is capable of line speeds as fast as 200 feet per minute. Featuring a color touch-screen, graphical user interface and a controller housed in an IP-54 (NEMA 12)-rated stainless steel enclosure with an optional IP65 (NEMA 4x) kit, the Marsh 8000 also offers ethernet and RS-232 connections.

Printer and labeler
Imaje has introduced the 2000 Series printer and label applicator. Featuring a modular design for a variety of production requirements, the 2000 Series also offers 4-inch or 6-inch print head configuration, 200- or 300-dpi print resolution, and thermal transfer or direct thermal printing. The Imaje 2000 Series also offers a built-in keypad and display, and stand-alone or online operation.

Marking nozzle
InkJet Inc. has launched the EZ Jet nozzle for use on all Videojet Excel series coding and marking systems.  The innovative EZ Jet nozzle features field-replaceable components that can easily be cleaned or swapped out by in-house operators. The EZ Jet nozzle accepts all orifice sizes used with Videojet Excel series printers from 36 micron to 120 micron.
