Choice Organic Teas added five new varieties to its original tea line and will donate a percentage of the profits of each box to support the Jane Goodall Institute. The new varieties include Oothu Garden Green, Wild Forest Black, Decaffeinated English Breakfast, Rooibos Superfruit and Yerba Maté Mint. The Jane Goodall Institute, founded by renowned primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall, is a global leader in the effort to protect chimpanzees and their habitats. Oothu Garden Green is made with single estate green tea from one of the first organic and Fair Trade certified tea gardens in India, the company says. Wild Forest Black is made from tea trees from Southeast Asia. Made with a blend of Indian teas, Decaffeinated English Breakfast tea is made in the traditional style. Rooibos Superfruit pairs tea grown in South Africa’s Cederberg Mountains with hibiscus, rosehips, orange and schizandra berry. Choice Organic Teas’ Yerba Maté Mint blends yerba mate from South America with Washington-grown peppermint, Egyptian spearmint and a hint of lemongrass. The teas are U.S. Department of Agriculture certified organic, verified by the Non-GMO Project and four of the five are Fair Trade certified. The teas will be available in October at participating natural and specialty grocery stores for $4.69 for a 16-count box.
