Three of the top five fastest-growing spirits brands are vodkas, but whiskey is the category with the most momentum, according to the 2015 SpiritsTAB Report from Chicago-based Technomic Inc.
New data from Chicago-based Technomic Inc. reveals that adult beverage programs at leading chain restaurants also enhance guest satisfaction. In a new white paper, “Adult Beverage Consumption at the Leading Restaurant Chains,” the market research firm shows how adult beverage consumption across 40 casual-dining and fast-casual restaurants serving adult beverages is associated with higher ratings of the overall experience and stronger loyalty to that restaurant.
Cranberry, caramel, apple, cinnamon and pumpkin are among the top flavors featured in flavored vodkas this fall, according to Chicago-based Technomic Inc.’s online Digital Resource Information Knowledgebase (DRINK) database.
At nearly 33 million, U.S. Hispanics of legal drinking age (LDA) are important adult beverage consumers, and their influence will expand rapidly, according to Chicago-based Technomic Inc.’s “Special Trends in Adult Beverage (TAB) Report: Hispanic Consumer Insights.” By 2015, Hispanics will account for 15 percent of the total U.S. LDA population; by 2045, one-quarter of the U.S. LDA population will be Hispanic, it reports.
Following the growth trend in spirits and the rise of cocktail culture, mixers used in the preparation of cocktails and mixed drinks in restaurants and bars are on a solid growth trajectory, according to the “On-Premise Bar Mixer Marketplace” report by Chicago-based Technomic.
Chicago-based Technomic Inc. and Newton, Mass.-based Restaurant Sciences LLC have partnered to provide greater visibility into sales trends in restaurants and bars and also deliver a comprehensive suite of food and beverage tracking services, the companies say.
Chicago-based Technomic’s Adult Beverage Resource Group reported that the Top 250 spirits brands grew 3.1 percent in total volume in 2011, which is slightly lower than the total market’s 3.5 percent increase. Deerfield, Ill.-based Beam Inc.’s Skinnygirl Cocktails outpaced all other brands with a 388 percent gain to break the 500,000 case mark and rank as the fastest-growing brand, according to Technomic.
