Coffee fruit juices on track to double sales this year

KonaRed Corp., the Koloa, Hawaii-based manufacturer of antioxidant juices from CoffeeBerry coffee fruit, announced strong sales growth in the first half of 2014.
Monster Beverage Corp., Corona, Calif., reported a more than 10 percent increase in gross sales to nearly $614 million in the first quarter of 2014, which ended March 31. Net sales in the term also increased by more than 10 percent to $536 million, and gross profit reached 53.5 percent of net sales.
Boston-based The Boston Beer Co. Inc. reported its first quarter 2014 net revenue totaled $183.8 million, an increase of $47.9 million or 35 percent compared with the prior-year period. The company attributes this growth to a 32 percent increase in core shipments. Net income for the first quarter was $8.3 million, an increase of $1.4 million from the first quarter of 2013, also primarily due to shipment increases that were partially offset by increased investments in advertising, promotional and selling expenses, and the impact of a favorable federal income tax settlement.
Revenue reached a record $3.9 million in the quarter

Boca Raton, Fla.-based Celsius Holdings Inc. reported its financial results for the three months ending March 31. The company marked a 65 percent increase in revenue to $3.9 million in the quarter, with domestic sales increasing 16 percent and international sales increasing 133 percent, it says. As such, gross profit increased 61 percent to $1.4 million.
Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., Plano, Texas, reported that net sales and volume both increased 1 percent, respectively. These increases were impacted by favorable product and package mix and net pricing, partially offset by unfavorable segment mix and 1 percentage point of foreign currency.
Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. reported worldwide volume growth of 2 percent as well as volume and value share gains for its non-alcohol ready-to-drink (NARTD) beverages portfolio during the first quarter of 2014.
