Código 1530 recently released its new limited-edition extra-añejo tequila expression: George Strait Origen. Origen is bottled from six unique barrels aged for more than six years, the company says. The expressions were hand-selected by brand co-founder and country music legend George Strait while on-location filming the music video for his hit song “Código” at their distillery in Amatitán, Mexico, it says. Featuring hints of lush ripe fruit with a spicy oak bouquet, the George Strait Origen has rested for more than six years in French White Oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet, it says. Retailing at $349.99 for a bottle, there are only 1,200 bottles available of the 40 percent alcohol by volume spirit.
