Nutrisystem launches new line of shakes

Shake360 program aimed at consumers interested in optimal nutrition, healthy eating

March 1, 2016

Fort Washington, Pa.-based Nutrisystem, a provider of weight-management products and services, announced the launch of a new program, Shake360, to address a growing consumer segment interested in optimal nutrition and clean eating, the company says.

“The Shake360 program capitalizes on our already extensive knowledge around selling shakes to our current Nutrisystem program customers and branches out to a growing customer segment, which includes millennials, whose interest extends beyond weight loss to optimal nutrition,” said Dawn Zier, president and chief executive officer of Nutrisystem, in a statement. “Shake360 meets the accelerating demand for clean, nutrient-dense, gluten-free, great tasting and affordable nutrition that fits and can evolve with today’s busy lifestyles.”

The Shake360 launch offer includes Fresh Start, a three-day body reboot kit designed to rejuvenate the body and help consumers get on the path to healthier living, the company says. Fresh Start consists of two shakes a day, gluten-free granola with flax and chia seeds, a morning Refresh tea to revive and gently detoxify the body, and an evening Chill tea to help achieve more restful and reformative sleep, it says.

The kit also includes a large selection of easy-to-prepare dinner recipes, the company adds.

To help consumers identify whether they are a candidate for Fresh Start and Shake360, the company offers a “Fresh Start” quiz, posing the following questions:

• Do you drink caffeine every day?
• Did you eat something with added sugar in the past 24 hours?
• Did you eat processed food today?
• Would you like to have more energy?

Shake360 shakes are soy free, dairy free, gluten free and vegan; they have no artificial ingredients or preservatives, colors or sweeteners; and are available in multiple flavors, the company says. Each shake delivers three servings of greens as well as fruits and vegetables that provide whole food sources of vitamins and minerals, 16 grams of plant protein and high-quality probiotics. Antioxidants, vitamins and minerals also are emphasized, it adds.

Shake360 has a money-back guarantee and recently began rolling out nationwide in TV commercials, online and on social media. The Shake360 App can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and at Google Play for Android devices.
