The 2015 release of Pernod Ricard USA’s Yellow Spot imported single pot still Irish whiskey is a 12-year-old whiskey that is matured in a combination of American bourbon, Spanish sherry and Spanish Malaga casks, the company says. Consumers will note a sweetness from honey with pot-still spices and hints of fresh coffee, creamy milk chocolate and crème brulee, it says. Each batch of Yellow Spot is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, which then is triple distilled in traditional copper stills, according to the company. Yellow Spot is in 750-ml bottles for a suggested retail price of $99.99.
