Flavorchem Corp. opened a new LEED-certified liquid production facility at its headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill. With the new 44,000-square-foot facility, Flavorchem’s facilities now total 215,000 square feet. In addition to its state-of-the-art production facility, Flavorchem now has a larger, more dedicated area for its quality control and regulatory departments as well as a better-equipped training facility for its employees, the company says.

Some of the new facility’s features include a conference room with large glass windows, enabling customers to see the production process; safety mechanisms in case of spillage or combustion; skylights to bring in natural light and reduce energy; and equipment with logic built in for safety, traceability and inventory control.

 The Downers Grove campus includes Flavorchem’s corporate headquarters; the sales, customer service and marketing offices; technical and production facilities; and distribution and packaging centers.
