Symrise announced its new line of tropical fruit flavors known as Go Tropicals! The line includes mango, guava, papaya, pineapple, lychee, passionfruit, pomegranate, coconut water and prickly pear varieties. The flavors were determined by Symrise’s MCI group’s nationwide online study of consumers in key life stages. Generally, the consumers indicated a preference for the more familiar tropical fruit flavors, but they also demonstrated a willingness to try the newer varieties cited in the study, the company says. The Go Tropicals! Fruit flavors have been tested in a range of drinks, such as still drinks, teas, carbonated beverages and cocktail mixers. The company also found that the flavors help to mask some of the off-tastes of some vitamins and minerals when used in fortified beverages, it says.
