Things To See At IFT

‘Hit your flavor targets faster’
David Michael will feature its new culinary department chefs at IFT to serve up Asian inspired dishes. The company will feature tea flavors through its African red tea truffles and flavored teas. Family owned and operated, David Michael & Co. has been a leader and an innovator in the flavor industry for more than 100 years. It offers more than 30,000 flavors, stabilizers and natural colors that can be custom-designed to meet the needs of virtually any food product. — David Michael & Co., 10801 Decatur Road, Philadelphia, Pa. 19154; 215/632-3100; dmflavors.com; IFT Booth 2861
‘Resourceful by Nature’
ADM will highlight many of its resources at IFT, including a low-sugar, protein-rich children’s chocolate drink containing Ambrosia chocolate, CornSweet low-glycemic crystalline fructose and Fibersol-2. Heart-healthy CardioAid plant sterol esters, Fibersol-2 and protein-enhanced NutriSoy organic whole soybean powder can be used to create a creamy, low-fat raspberry smoothie, and an exotic vanilla chai tea meal replacement will contain Novasoy isoflavones, CornSweet, NutriSoy soy protein and Enova oil. — Archer Daniels Midland Co., 4666 Fairies Parkway, Decatur, Ill. 62526; 217/424-5200;admworld.com; IFT Booth 2514.
Reliably sweet
Nutrinova, will highlight the latest advancements in blending its high-intensity Sunett (acesulfame K) sweetener with a full range of other sweeteners at this year’s IFT, as well as its Nutrinova Sorbates. Attendees can sample a selection of beverage concepts such as flavored waters, juice drinks, energy drinks, dairy drinks and carbonated soft drinks. Blends with Sunett offer a sweet, reliable taste that promotes the quick release of flavors. Customized blending combinations offer benefits not only for diet, light and ‘mid-calorie’ drinks but also for traditionally positioned, full sugared carbonated soft drinks, iced tea, fruit-flavored beverages and dry mixes. The company also will feature its sorbates, and will have representatives available to discuss their benefits. — Nutrinova, 285 Davidson Ave., Suite 102, Somerset, N.J. 08873; 732/271-7220; nutrinova.com; IFT Booth 1732
ColorMaker blends
D.D. Williamson will showcase its broad spectrum of natural colors, including its colorMaker custom blends at the IFT show. The company now has nine manufacturing sites on five continents, and has updated its brand identity to reflect its growing portfolio of natural colors. Visitors will find certified organic caramel color for application in beverages, soups, sauces, baked goods and cereals; natural colors including annatto, turmeric, elderberry, blackcurrant, carmine and red beet; ColorMaker natural color blend emulsions that readily incorporate into cocoa butter, palm kernel oil, jojoba oil and paraffin; and powdered caramel color samples. — D.D. Williamson, 1901 Payne Street, Louisville, Ky. 40206; 502/895-2438; ddwilliamson.com; colormaker.com; IFT Booth 1128
