Music Festival

Spoetzl Brewery, producer of Shiner beer, recently hosted the 11th Annual Shiner Bocktoberfest Concert in Green Dickson Park in the Texas city for which the beer is named. The outdoor music festival featured booths with everything from food to henna tattoes as well as a musical line up of acts such as Kid Rock, Staind, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Lyle Lovett. Proceeds from the Shiner Bocktoberfest Concert benefit the Shiner Chamber of Commerce and other Shiner civic and charitable organizations.
Gala benefit
Louis Vuitton, Jamie Foxx, Dustin Hoffman and Sarah Jessica Parker recently hosted the 2nd Annual Louis Vuitton United Cancer Front Gala at Universal Studios. Louis Vuitton underwrote the entire evening so that all funds raised benefited the United Cancer Front. To support the cause, Dom Perignon provided all champagne for the evening, and Moët Hennessy provided full bar service.Music festival

Brown awarded
Allied Domecq Wines and Mumm Napa, producer of DVX, a sparkling wine made in California, recently sponsored the 2004 DVXcellence Awards to recognize supporters of the gay and lesbian community. The awards were held last month at the Clift Hotel in San Francisco. The ceremony was preceded by a reception during which attendees had the opportunity to meet and thank San Francisco Mayor, Willie L. Brown Jr., for his support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Driving awareness
Reaching more than 100 million racing fans last year, Smirnoff Ice's awareness campaign kicked off this year with the new driver and car at the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. The Smirnoff Ice “Be Smart, Drink Responsibly” sponsorship, which has supported Matt Kenseth during the past two seasons, is shifting drivers to Kurt Busch and the No. 97 Roush Racing Sharpie/Irwin car for the 2005 and 2006 racing seasons.
Ironman sponsor
Erdinger, producer of Erdinger Alkoholfrei, a non-alcohol beer, recently sponsored several athletes for the Ironman Triathalon. The 2.6-mile swim, 112-mile cycle race and 26-mile foot race that pushes athletes to the limit is held in Hawaii. It is considered one of the toughest events in the Ironman circuitof races.
Big thanks
Thanksgiving and the Red Sox World Series victory inspired Nantucket Nectars to post a giant Thank You card at Faneuil Hall Marketplace last month. The 8-foot high by 48-foot long card offered 384-square feet of signing space for New Englanders wishing to express their gratitude to the team. For each signature up to 10,000, Nantucket Nectars made a $1 donation to the Jimmy Fund, a Boston non-profit organization that supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
