., Norcross, Ga., has announced the appointment of David Schroeder to the position of vice president, business development.  Schroeder will oversee sales, marketing and communications in North America. In other company news, Michel Picandet will assume the position of zone vice president for South Asia based in Shanghai, China.
Robert Jenkins recently joined Tasker Capital Corp., Danbury, Conn., as chief financial officer.
Bill Barker has been appointed group director of beverage cans with worldwide responsibility at Rexam. He has relocated to Rexam's London headquarters.
Brian Bauerbach has been named chief operating officer at Portola Packaging Inc., San Jose, Calif. Bauerbach will be based in Batavia, Ill. Jim Taylor will assume a new position with Portola as president-international, and will be responsible for Portola's Asian, United Kingdom and European operations.
Mark Rossi has been hired to serve on the construction management team at Food Tech Structures in Hanover, Mass.
Michael Anderson has been named chief operating officer at Fort Dearborn Co., Niles, Ill. Anderson most recently served as senior vice president of operations at Relizon Co.
Virginia Burnell has been appointed president of North America operations at Invensys Process Systems, Foxboro, Mass.
Mark Erkkila and Rebecca Weinberg have been hired as packaging/sales consultants at Ameri-Seal Inc.  Both are based out of Ameri-Seal’s corporate headquarters in Chatsworth, Calif.
Phil Koch has been named marketing manager at Sato Corp. Koch will be responsible for managing all aspects of the marketing department, including product development, media and press campaigns, trade shows and exhibitions, product training and new business development.
Alistair Pyers has joined Fogg Co., Holland, Mich., as business development manager for Asia and the Pacific Rim. He will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.
David Browske has been named director of sales and marketing at Avery Dennison Graphics Division North America, Painesville, Ohio. He will succeed Michel Merkx, who has been named general manager of the industrial product division for Avery Dennison Automotive in Strongsville, Ohio.
