Torres & Towers LLC
, Hazleton, Pa., recently sold a 49 percent equity interest to Crown Zeller, an affiliate of Crown Holdings Inc., Philadelphia. Torres & Towers will act as the in-house contract molder for Crown Zeller, as well as help sell and distribute Crown’s dispensing closure systems. In other company news, Torres & Towers recently acquired the injection molding production assets of Zapata Innovative Plastics Inc., Hazleton, Pa. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Krones Inc. has established a fund to assist family members of former employee of Krones AG Anton Uebelhoer after his recent passing. To contribute to the fund, donors can make checks payable to Krones Inc. and reference the Anton Uebelhoer Family Fund. FMC BioPolymer, Philadelphia, announced an average price increase of 6 to 9 percent for selected pharmaceutical, food and industrial grade alginate products. These increases apply to pricing worldwide.
Geocom, Atlanta, recently teamed with Vocantas Inc., a solution provider of computer telephony, IVR and speech integration, to bring automated customer self-service and home-delivery scheduling to the retail industry. The combined solution will enable customers to schedule delivery times automatically via the telephone and help retailers make more accurate delivery commitments.
BBF Printing Solutions recently announced new services. The company offers roll, sheet or folded document forms; direct mail printing; label and EDP labels in as many as ten colors; die cutting and rewinding; and 15-, 20-, 24- and 30-ml. laminated or unlaminated plastic cards with or without magnetic stripe, signature panel and personalization.
Paymentech, Dallas, was recently awarded a multi-year contract from Pepsi-Cola North America to process credit and debit cards in vending machines throughout the United States.
Peterbilt Motors Co., Denton, Texas, recently announced detailed truck schematics and parts lists are available through the Internet with Peterbilt's TruckCare Web ECAT (electronic catalog).
Reston, Va.-based Transaction Network Services Inc., a subsidiary of TNS Inc., has announced that Metavante Corp. has renewed its agreement with TNS to be Metavante's primary transaction network provider for dial ATM traffic in the United States.
