Constellation Brands Inc., Victor, N.Y., reported a 6 percent increase in net sales reaching $673 million for the first quarter of its fiscal-year 2014.
New Amsterdam Spirits, Modesto, Calif., announced the newest additions to its portfolio: New Amsterdam Citron and Coconut Flavored Vodkas. Like its existing flavored vodkas, both New Amsterdam Citron and Coconut are five times distilled and made from high-quality grains and fruit flavors, it says.

New York-based Pernod Ricard USA announced a reorganization and expansion of its spirits marketing team, effective July 1. Brown-Forman Corp., Louisville, Ky., announced its intention to expand the Woodford Reserve Distillery to meet the anticipated growing global demand for its super-premium Woodford Reserve Kentucky bourbon. The more than $35 million investment includes the addition of three new warehouses capable of housing more than 165,000 barrels of bourbon.
Chicago-based MillerCoors announced that its Golden Brewery in Golden, Colo., now is landfill-free. Building on its experience in making four of its other breweries landfill-free, this latest achievement means that one of the largest breweries in the United States eliminated an average of 135 tons of waste monthly that was previously sent to a landfill, according to the company.
Kona Brewing Co., Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, invites its beer fans of legal drinking age to share their summer fun photos with the Kona Brewing Summer Bucket List sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will be treated to an endless summer of bucket list activities in the surf, sun and sand in Hawaii.

Retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies are dealing with new rules of consumer engagement as they seize opportunities from advanced technology and the digitally connected consumer, according to the 2013 Financial Performance Report titled “Growth Strategies: Unlocking the Power of the Consumer” by the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), Washington, D.C., and PwC US, New York. Despite the overall slowing of net sales growth rates in 2012, the report notes that food, beverage and household products companies experienced positive net sales growth of 7.0 percent, 5.5 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively.
