E. & J. Gallo Winery (Gallo), Modesto, Calif., announced that its spirits division has signed an agreement to acquire Agave Loco LLC, the owner of RumChata, a leading cream liqueur brand.
After a successful top-market rollout in 2020, RumChata Limón now will be on shelves across the whole country. The announcement coincides with the launch of two additional sizes for the brand, a 375-ml bottle and a three-pack of 100-ml bottles.
RumChata released its Summer Tumbler, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters partnered with National Geographic, Bud Light rolled out a new TV campaign, and Brisk Iced Tea partners with Hobbs and Shaw movie.
From what began as an interest in the Hispanic culture and horchata's distinct combination of rice, cinnamon and vanilla, RumChata now is the No. 1 selling rum-cream liqueur, with an annual sales of 500,000-plus cases globally.
High Brew Cold Brew Coffee and RumChata cream liqueur have partnered to offer a limited-edition cocktail kit. When paired, the duo creates an iced-coffee cocktail combining the smoothness of High Brew Cold Brew Coffee’s classic, dairy-free Black and Bold flavor with the smooth and creamy taste of RumChata cream liqueur.
Continuing its support for the Lone Survivor Foundation, RumChata released its annual Freedom Bottle this summer. Since the program began in 2014, the RumChata Freedom Bottle has raised more than $485,000 for the foundation, it says.
