Stabilus has introduced Lift-O-Mat Inox stainless steel gas springs recommended for industries such as marine, medical and food processing. Quadrel has introduced VersaLine L.C., a low-cost version of its Front/Back /Wrap Labeling System. Versatile latch
Southco has introduced the new Beetle latch, a compact, lightweight, slam-to-close latching solution. Featuring a durable, brightly polished stainless steel handle and a white-, black- or stainless steel-covered plastic (PC/PBT blend) housing, the latch sits flush to the surface. Lift truck series
Hyster Co. has announced its J30-40ZT three-wheel lift truck series is available. The new models, with capacities from 3,000 to 4,000 pounds, combine AC technology with maneuverability to make it easier to get around in aisles and congested loading bays. The J30-40ZT series features Hyster’s brushless AC traction and steer motors, an on board diagnostics display and an optional brushless hoist motor. Additionally, the series offers precision rack and pinion hydrostatic steering, large cushion rubber tires, a double-action steer cylinder and dual, independently controlled transaxles. Light weight container
Linpac Materials Handling, manufacturer of Ropak reusable container systems, has introduced the new T-pak Max3 container. The returnable, collapsible Max3 was developed specifically for the packaging industry, with a lighter-weight design to maximize payloads and reduce shipping costs. The Max3 features a 44-inch by 48-inch footprint and a 50-inch height with four-way fork entry. Designed with a non-sequential folding action, the container collapses to 11 inches in height. Dynamic stacking capacity of the Max3 is two high, while the container can be stacked five high in a static warehouse environment. Maximum dynamic capacity is 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms). Common applications include cosmetic packaging, crowns, metal closures, PET preforms, pharmaceutical packaging, plastic closure moldings and synthetic cork products. InkJet, Inc. has introduced the 308-1LDN, an aftermarket replacement ink cartridge for the Little David OEM ink CPMA-75-308. The 308-1LDN is a black, water-based drop-on-demand carton-coding ink that requires no special changeover procedure, and can be piggybacked directly into the OEM printer without flushing. Sanitary conditioners
Atlantic Ultraviolet Corp. has introduced Nutripure Sanitary Conditioners, which control condensation and provide filtered, sanitized air to liquid storage tanks. The Nutripure units ensure that bacteria-free air is used to keep the inside air temperature consistent with the temperature of the air outside the tanks. New films
Mitsubishi Plastics Inc. of Japan recently announced it will market three flexible packaging films for food, medical, and consumer product packaging in the United States: Techbarrier, Supernyl and Santonyl. Techbarrier is a series of oriented films coated with SiOx to achieve oxygen and water vapor barrier properties similar to aluminum foil. Supernyl co-extruded nylon film is bi-axially oriented and contains a barrier resin in the core. It features strength, transparency and printability with an oxygen barrier. Supernyl has replaced much of the PVDC-coated film used in Japan for applications such as packaged fish, meats, and shelf stable products requiring a moderate oxygen barrier. New chip
Omnikey, manufacturer of smart card readers, has launched the CardMan Smart Link 2.0, its latest chip set for standalone smart card reader devices. CardMan Smart Link 2.0 supports serial interfaces in addition to the USB 2.0 interfaces and allows easier integration in embedded solutions with TTL or V.24 serial ports. The chip set, pre-certified to WHQL, EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) Level 1 and USB CCID specifications, has been designed as a drop-in replacement for existing CardMan Smart Link reader designs. MicroAnalytics Inc. has introduced the 3.0 version of the TruckStops Routing & Scheduling Software. This new version offers enhanced itinerary-generating capabilities in addition to the ability to output route data via ODBC. The 3.0 version provides driving directions and distance calculations through a Microsoft MapPoint interface in addition to an enhanced ODBC functionality, which allows users to output route information, or bypass the data export process and save data to another ODBC compliant database. Digital positioners
Flowserve Corp. recently debuted the Logix 3200IQ and 500si series digital positioners. The Logix 3200IQ and 500si series are used in oil and gas production and refining, chemical processing, pulp and paper production, and other industries employing control valves. The explosion-proof Logix 3200IQ and the 500si series use state-of-the-art piezo technology and inner-loop feedback with minimal air consumption in compact, lightweight, modular designs. The 500si series is available in two models – the 510si and the 520si. The Logix 3200IQ and 500si series feature easy commissioning control buttons, a direct user interface, highly visible LEDs and a jog calibrate function, which allows the user to calibrate the positioner on all actuators without physical stroke stops. Additionally, with Flowserve SoftTools software or a handheld communicator, a custom 21-point characterization curve can be generated that can be used to change the response of the positioner to meet the process requirements. Nozzle introduction
Delavan has developed a line of air blow-off nozzles that deliver high-impact compressed air in a flat pattern at noise levels below the OSHA standard. The AJ 150 nozzles can be used to create an air curtain when mounted side by side. The nozzles' 16-orifice design ensures a uniform distribution of air and a good spray pattern across a range of applications such as cooling, warming, drying, cleaning and moving components. The nozzles are made of Polyacetal.
The company also recently debuted its Cool-Cast nozzle system, featuring a rectangular pattern with spray angles between 60 and 120 I, in 12 sizes. Film selection
AET Films has introduced a selection of films and labels for beverage packaging. Its line of matte oriented polypropylene (OPP) labels are for upscale beverage and food packaging. Recommended for product labeling, flexible packaging, overwrap, graphic media, and industrial and holographic applications, OPP films are durable and provide graphic appeal, according to the company. Additionally, the company has announced the launch of the CSL 231-125 OPP cut-and-stack label film for container decoration. CSL 231-125 is a white opaque film designed for sheet-fed presses for cut-and-stack labeling applications as well as roll-to-roll presses with in-line or out-of-line sheeting. The film features a thickness of 3.3 ml., a non-print surface and moisture resistance, and can accommodate many printing methods. Rate controller
Fluid Metering Inc. has debuted the V200 Stroke Rate Controller for control of FMI V-Series Variable Speed Metering Pumps. Designed for accurate fluid metering in laboratory R&D, test stand, pilot plant and production applications, the V200 Controller allows pump speed settings to be adjusted manually using a digital potentiometer or electronically using a 4-20mA interface. In addition to controlling fluid flow from 0 to 4 liters per minute in forward and reverse directions, it can also change flow direction by using the toggle switches.
