Acquisitions, happenings, and new hires amidst ingredient findings keep industry on its toes

PureCircle Ltd. introduced Sigma-Beverage, its latest breakthrough stevia ingredient that is specifically optimized for beverage formulations. Sigma-Beverage performs similarly to sugar but at deep calorie reductions, so formulators can create beverage solutions for consumers while still reducing development time by 30-50 percent, it says.

For low- to no-calorie products, PureCircle now offers new stevia-based solutions from its Zeta Family. The ingredients in the Zeta Family are made with steviol glycosides Reb M and Reb D, offering the most sugar-like taste, the company says.

Oak Brook, Ill.-based PureCircle unveiled a new family of stevia ingredients for specific category applications, which perform similarly to sugar to enable deeper calorie reductions.

Bell Flavors & Fragrances acquired an 85,000 square-foot warehouse building that is contiguous to its existing corporate headquarters in Northbrook, Ill. The company plans to connect its current corporate headquarters with the new building, it says.
