Niche Import Co., a brand of Marussia Beverages Co., released Hatozaki Small Batch Whisky, from the the Kaikyō Distillery produced in Akashi City, Japan. Hatozaki Small Batch is 100 percent malt whiskies that are vatted and aged in imported bourbon and sherry barrels as well as native Mizunara oak barrels, the company says. The resulting whisky features notes of sweet cereals and malty, dried fruit with a touch of smoke and honey, it adds. Packaged in a 750-ml bottle, the whisky blend features a 40 percent alcohol-by-volume content and is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $60.
