According to research, consuming saffron boosts serotonin levels, which plays a key role in appetite and satiety. Additionally, saffron is rich in a number of antioxidants and minerals such as zinc, calcium, iron and potassium. It has been used to relieve menstrual pain, depression and insomnia, and helps the body fight against blindness, cardiovascular diseases and numerous forms of cancers, according to research.
