Ohio-based glass producer O-I Glass Inc., recently announced a partnership with FX Matt Beverage Co. O-I will provide new glass packaging solutions for beverage brands. The partnership also will accelerate the speed to market for the Drinktainer. “FX Matt is the ideal co-packaging partner, bringing experience, know-how and speed to market for brands seeking to leverage the superior design and sensory benefits of Drinktainer for their beverages,” said Sarah Brennan, North America marketing and NPD director for O-I, in a statement. The Drinktainer is a beverage container that features a wide-mouth opening, which the two companies say closes the gap on the optimal drinking experience when enjoying a beverage from glassware. The 42mm RipCap gives consumers a unique opening ritual that is suitable for most carbonated beverages. “In our 135-year history, we have thrived by going to market with new and innovative beverages and packages that delight our customers and our consumers,” said Fred Matt, president and CEO for FX Matt Beverage Co., in a statement. “We look forward to building Drinktainer into a premium ‘must have’ beverage container with O-I.” The companies note that the Drinktainer will help companies stand out on the shelf amongst competitors.
