Anheuser-Busch released Budweiser & Clamato Chelada and Bud Light & Clamato Chelada nationwide last month. Hispanics, particularly those of Mexican descent, have been mixing beer with Clamato for decades, A-B says. The new beers combine A-B’s lagers with the spicy taste of Clamato Tomato Cocktail, made by Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages. A-B suggests customizing the beers by garnishing with a slice of lime, celery stalk, salting the rim of a glass or adding hot sauce to the beer. Budweiser & Clamato Chelada and Bud Light & Clamato Chelada contain 5 percent and 4.2 percent alcohol per volume, respectively, and are packaged in 24-ounce single-serve cans and 16-ounce cans in four-packs.

Brewers collection
Miller Brewing Co. released the Miller Lite Brewers Collection, a trio of craft styles that are lower in calories and carbs. The collection will feature blonde, amber and wheat styles, and initially will be available in four markets: Minneapolis, San Diego, Baltimore and Charlotte, N.C. Miller Lite Brewers Collection Wheat offers a subtle citrus character, while the collection’s Amber features roasted malts and a mild hop character. Miller Lite Brewers Collection Blonde Ale provides a slight maltiness that’s balanced by a recognizable hop aroma, the company says. The Miller Lite Brewers Collection initially will be available in 12-ounce bottle six-packs, and priced between mainstream light beers and craft beers, the brewer says.

Energy shot
Wet Planet Beverages extended its Jolt product line with Jolt Endurance Shot. The product contains amino acids, electrolytes, vitamins and enzymes in addition to caffeine. With this formula, Jolt Endurance Shot aims to provide six hours of energy, the company says. The sugar-free drink is packaged in 2-ounce single-serve bottles, and retails for $2.99.

Arizona Beverages expanded its line of green tea-based energy drinks with All City NRG. The energy drink is a non-carbonated blend of vitamins, minerals and herbs, and combines Arizona Green Tea with pomegranate juice. All City NRG drink contains no preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. Packaged in 16-ounce cans that are available in three street art designs, the energy drinks retail between $1.99 and $2.49. Nestlé Waters North America reformulated and repackaged its SanPellegrino Sparkling Beverages. The waters were reformulated to include all-natural ingredients and 16 to 18 percent fruit juice. Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages extended its A&W and Sunkist brands with A&W and Sunkist Floats. The new drinks recreate the creamy frothiness of an ice cream float in a bottle. A&W and Sunkist are packaged in 11.5-ounce vintage soda-shop inspired glass bottles with twist-off tops. The floats retail for $1.79 for a single-serve bottle and $5.99 for a four-pack.

Irish red ale
As part of the third annual Beer Lover’s Choice contest, Boston Beer Co.’s consumers named Samuel Adams Irish Red Ale the winner, and the company added the ale to its Samuel Adams Brewmaster’s Collection. Samuel Adams Irish Red Ale is a deep red color and caramel flavor, and brewed using two-row Harrington and Metcalfe as well as caramel malts. The beer finishes with an earthy note from East Kent Goldings hops. In addition to offering the beer in Samuel Adams Brewmaster’s Collection six- and 12-packs, Samuel Adams Irish Red Ale is available in six-packs that retail between $7.99 and $8.99.

Diageo introduced three flavored malt beverages to its portfolio: Smirnoff Ice Light, Smirnoff Ice Strawberry Acai and Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Mojito. Smirnoff Ice Light contains 110 calories per bottle, and aims to be an alternative to light beer, Diageo says. Smirnoff Ice Light is available in six-packs and variety packs for $7.49; 12-packs also will be available. Smirnoff Ice Strawberry Acai is a strawberry-flavored beverage with a hint of acai, and is available in six-packs for $7.49. It also will be included in new Smirnoff Ice variety packs and 24-ounce bottles. Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Mojito offers the mint and lime flavor of a mojito.
