On the verge of its 150th anniversary, Bacardi Rums, parent company of Bacardi U.S.A. Inc., Coral Gables, Fla., announced the launch of Bacardi Oakheart.
Bacardi U.S.A. Inc. launched Bacardi Oakheart, a spiced rum for a new generation of 21-and-over consumers looking for adventure, freedom and spontaneity, the company says.
Bacardi announced U.S. bartender Shingo Gokan was named the winner of its second annual Global Legacy Cocktail Competition. Gokan of New York City won with his drink “Speak Low,” which was inspired by his grandmother’s Japanese tea ceremony.

When the founder of Bacardi, Don Facundo Bacardí Massó, purchased the company’s first distillery in Cuba, he found a colony of fruit bats hanging from the rafters.
Bacardi Limited, Hamilton, Bermuda, announced the planned retirement of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jacques Croisetière. Effective Dec. 3, he will be replaced by Joseph J. Schena, who will be responsible for the company’s global accounting, treasury, financial policies and reporting, as well as budgeting and forecasting.
Hamilton, Bermuda-based Bacardi Limited acquired St-Germain, the super-premium elderflower liqueur brand previously owned by Cooper Spirits International, New York. Robert Cooper, the creator of St-Germain and president of The Cooper Spirits Co., will continue to support the liqueur label, working hand-in-hand with Bacardi and bartenders around the world to continue to build the brand, the company says.
