Trinchero Napa Valley opens a new winery

Trinchero Family Estates, St. Helena, Calif., opened a new facility, Trinchero Napa Valley, which is open daily for tours and tastings. The property offers a 22,000-square-foot winery, a culinary center and a historic tasting room and picnic area. Just north of the town of St. Helena, the winery is the exclusive home of the family's new signature Trinchero Napa Valley program, single-vineyard, 100 percent estate-grown Napa Valley wines.

“We had our eye on this property for years and were thrilled in 2004 when it became available for sale,” said Bob Trinchero, chairman of Trinchero Family Estates, in a statement. “We’ve spent the last five years completely transforming it into our ultra-premium namesake winery. Since my parents moved here in 1948, we have acquired more than 220 acres of prime Napa Valley vineyards. We’re delighted to have a new winery, winemaker and wines that beautifully reflect our family’s legacy in the Napa Valley.”

The wines are crafted by winemaker Mario Monticelli, who previously worked for Philippe Melka and Carl Doumani. The inaugural 2007 vintage offers twelve different wines and 12,000 total cases, all estate-grown and predominantly single-vineyard. The new lineup is available in the new tasting room, and in fine restaurants and retail shops nationwide.
