AMBER PLASTIC BOTTLE
Ferolito Vultaggio & Sons, Lake Success, N.Y., introduced a new 20-ounce, single-serve, wide mouth plastic bottle for its Arizona products. Seven Arizona products are being packaged in the new bottle: Lemon Tea, Green Tea, Diet Green Tea, Pomegranate Green Tea, Sweet Tea, Raspberry Tea and Arnold Palmer Half & Half. The 20-ounce bottle is made with amber plastic to help preserve and protect the products and keep them fresher longer, the company says. The new package has been released in test markets in New York, Florida and Chicago, and retails for $1.29.
HUNTING PACKAGING
This fall, Miller Brewing Co. released limited-edition packages of Miller High Life, donning blaze orange attire and huntingthemed packaging. The packaging will hit store shelves in select markets throughout the United States. Proceeds from the sale of the huntingthemed packaging, available in 24- and 30-can packs, will be contributed to Miller High Life’s support of Whitetails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
CONTOUR BOTTLE
Coca-Cola North America launched a curvy contoured 20-ounce PET bottle for all its Coca-Cola brands. The updated design uses 5 percent less PET than its predecessor and is fully recyclable. The bottle features a new easy-to-hold and easy-toopen design. The bottle, which is the first update since it was last designed in 1993, was designed for on-the-go convenience with added texture and grip as well as a shorter cap, the company says. The design will began rolling out in convenience stores this month and will be available nationwide by early 2008. Its rollout will be complemented by a multi-media marketing campaign encouraging consumers to “Get a Grip on Your Thirst.”
YELLOW LABEL
Four Roses Bourbon, Lawrenceburg, Ky., unveiled a new package design for Four Roses Yellow Label for the first time in a decade. The new bottle and label design is set to be revealed at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, along with the introduction of Four Roses Barrel Strength, the distillery’s first-ever limited-edition bourbon. The initial launch of the new Yellow Label packaging will begin in Kentucky, eventually migrating to other markets throughout the United States and internationally.
