Fairport Brewing Co., a Rochester, N.Y.-based farm brewery, launched its first proprietary formula, New England-style BuchaBeer (pronounced “boocha beer”), called Crown Jewel. The malt beverage combines a light and refreshing Belgian wheat-based brew containing hints of citrus and peach with a proprietary, probiotic-powered kombucha fermented tea blend, the company says.

The Boulder, Colo.-based Brewers Association (BA) reported that growth for small and independent craft brewers remained stable for the first half of 2018, according to the BA’s new mid-year metrics. Production volume for the craft segment increased 5 percent during the first half of 2018, the company says.

Known for its world-class workforce and friendly regulatory environment, North Carolina has long been an agricultural and food manufacturing behemoth. But as the craft beer industry continues to gain steam, the state’s reputation has shifted to include high-volume, quality beer production in its already impressive offering.
The seal, showcasing an upside-down beer bottle with “Independent Craft” reversed out of white, was prominently displayed on signage and marketed during keynote presentations during the record-breaking CBC that attracted nearly 13,000 attendees.
The new machine is an update of the CB50 canning line filler-seamer combination that debuted last year at the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America.
Within the craft beer market, seasonal brews and IPAs have shared the limelight. But lately, consumers and analysts are seeing another beer style take the spotlight: session IPAs.
