The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), Washington, D.C., is accepting entries for its 2010 Clear Choice Awards, an annual competition to recognize excellence in glass package design.

The competition was set up to recognize the contribution glass packaging makes to the image, marketability, sustainability and success of food, beverage and cosmetic products, the company said.

Participants can enter the awards on www.gpi.org, where they can fill out a call-for-entries form. All entries must be postmarked by July 10.

Industry judges will dole out package design awards in several categories, including beer, wine, carbonated beverage, distilled spirits and organic food or beverage. Winners will be announced during GPI’s Recycle Glass Week, which begins Sept. 12, on www.gpi.org.

Winning products also will be on display at InterBev 2010, which runs Sept. 22-24 in Orlando, Fla., and at Pack Expo International 2010 Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Chicago.
