Samuel Adams LongShot Six-Pack

Boston Beer Co. released a six-pack featuring the winners of its 2009 Samuel Adams American Homebrew Contest. The variety pack features two bottles each of Michael Robinson’s Old Ale, Ben Miller’s Barleywine and Jeremy White’s Saison. Created by New Hampshire resident Robinson, the Old Ale is a 9 percent alcohol by volume malty English-style beer with notes of dried fruit, nut and caramel, the company says. Barleywine was created by New Mexico’s Miller and is a dark red, flavorful product with plum undertones that complement its caramel malt flavor, it says. The Belgian-style Saison has a pepper flavor as well as tropical spice notes and was created by Samuel Adams IT employee White. The LongShot variety pack will be available this month for a suggested retail price of $9.99.
