Remy Cointreau USA Inc. added Remy Martin V to its line of spirits. Pronounced “vee,” the name was inspired by the French work “vie” for life, the company says. Remy Martin V is a clear distilled grape spirit that blends the rich flavor and aromatics of House of Remy Martin with the smoothness and mixability of premium vodka, tequila and gin, it says. The spirit begins with grapes that are double-distilled in small copper pot stills and is filtered using a bespoke process that also chills the spirit, instead of aging in oak barrels, which is the final step in the cognac-making process. The product has a subtle flavor and aroma with hints of pear and nuances of fresh mint, the company says. The product launched in Atlanta and San Francisco Bay area earlier this fall.
