New Belgium Brewing Co. is marking its 20th anniversary celebration with the addition of Super Cru, which is part of the brewery’s Lips of Faith Series. Super Cru is a double version of New Belgium’s signature Fat Tire Amber Ale. The beer doubles the malt bill and hop profile of the traditional beer that features Asian pear juice and saison yeast that are added to accentuate the fresh apple ester of Fat Tire, the company says. Super Cru opens with a big bready nose and rolls from floral hop to earthy malt and finishes with a touch of clove, it says. The beer is 10 percent alcohol by volume and is available on draft and in 22-ounce bottles in markets where New Belgium is sold for $9.99. The brewery also brought back Abbey Grand Cru ale, which is brewed after every 1,000 batches.
