Jamba Juice expands into hot beverages, tea

Jamba Juice, Emeryville, Calif., has introduced a line of hot organic tea lattes and hot chocolate called the Jamba Juice Hot Blends in four varieties.

The four varieties – Original Spiced Chai Tea, Perfectly Chocolate Chai Tea, Heavenly Green Tea and Classic Hot Chocolate – will be offered for $2 each for a limited time. The hot beverages are blended with a choice of organic nonfat milk, 2 percent milk or soymilk, the company said.

Jamba Juice also began offering organic whole leaf teas by Mighty Leaf, San Rafael, Calif. The whole leaf teas are packaged in biodegradable pouches and come in six varities: Organic Breakfast, Organic Earl Grey, Organic Green Dragon, Organic Spring Jasmine, Organic African Nectar and Organic Detox Infusion.

“Launching the new Hot Blends beverage line is definitely a breakthrough for us,” said James D. White, president and chief executive officer, Jamba Juice Co, in a statement. “We are confident that our customers will find that our new offerings provide the delicious taste and health benefits that people expect from teas, but in a way that is unique to Jamba.”
