This five-day course covers virtually all facets of steam boiler operation, maintenance and troubleshooting, including common boiler auxiliaries and operating techniques, modern boiler water treatment practices, construction and repair methods, waste heat recovery, controls, fuels and draft under the direction of instructor Byron Nichols.
The course’s training manual, which is included in the cost of the course, highlights the latest information on instrumentation and programmable logic control (PLC) systems, variable-frequency drives (VFDs), steam system optimization, reverse osmosis systems, low-NOx burners, and boiler start-up and shutdown procedures.
On Friday, May 3, the American Society of Power Engineers (ASOPE) Region 4 will provide Entry Level 3 class through Chief Engineering Level testing for those who qualify. This exam and licensing also are included in the cost of the course.
