The consumer packaged goods market continued to see success from beverage brand owners last year. In Beverage Industry’s compilation of the Top 100 beverage companies based on 2013 sales, The Coca-Cola Co. edged out the competition once again as the No. 1 beverage company despite its sales being down $1.1 billion from the previous year. Newcomers to this year’s list, however, include WhiteWave Foods Co., which was spun off from Dean Foods Co. last year, as well as SodaStream International Ltd., which manufactures liquid concentrates for use in its at-home carbonated beverage machines. The median standard for the industry continues to climb, with the No. 50 beverage company, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, recording $609 million in 2013 sales. The minimum threshold also increased from last year’s $41 million to $55 million.
