The Gatorade Co., Chicago, a division of PepsiCo, announced that its G Series Pro line of professional level sports nutrition beverages and bars is now available at Dick’s Sporting Goods. The national sporting goods retailer has more than 420 stores and, effective today, has become Gatorade’s Sports Performance Headquarters. The retailer will offer the G Series Pro line and is the first and exclusive outlet for Gatorade sidelines equipment, including towels and cups, which debuted at the Super Bowl in February.

“G Series Pro raises the sports nutrition bar even higher,” said Sarah Robb O’Hagan, chief marketing officer of Gatorade, in a statement. “We recognize different needs of distinct groups of athletes across the spectrum of the whole category and elite athletes need a highly customized product line like G Series Pro and they’re shopping for it in premium distribution channels such as Dick’s Sporting Goods.”

The elite line of products was developed by The Gatorade Sports Science Institute to meet the sports nutrition needs of elite athletes before, during and after performance. G Series Pro debuted at GNC Stores nationwide May 1 and includes protein-enhanced nutrition shakes, carbohydrate energy fuel beverage and Gatorade Thirst Quencher Endurance Formula with more electrolytes than Gatorade Thirst Quencher.

The 424 Dick’s Sporting Goods locations will host a launch event for G Series Pro on June 5. At all locations, customers can learn about G Series Pro line of products and sideline equipment, gain access to the exclusive online Gatorade Performance Center and enter the G Series “Train Like a Pro” sweepstakes. The winner of the contest will receive a one-week expense paid trip to a world class athletic training facility. In addition, NFL players Johnny Knox, Jason Witten and Maurice Jones-Drew will make special in-store signing appearances at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles, respectively.
