Albert Baladi

President & Chief Executive Officer,
Beam Suntory

Albert Baladi serves as President & CEO of Beam Suntory (BSI) since April 2019, located in Chicago. BSI is a world leader in premium spirits with $5B in global sales and 4,700 employees and is owned by Suntory Holdings. In his role, Baladi is spearheading the transformation of BSI towards a bold 2030 vision to become a consumer centric, global world-class premium brand-building company. This entails reshaping and premiumizing the portfolio, globalizing the footprint, evolving culture and capabilities, and step changing sustainability. To enable this transformation, he changed BSI’s historical operating model and organization structure, establishing brand houses anchored in the distilleries, with end-to-end matrix join-up across the company.

Previously, Baladi held the dual role of BSI’s Chief Operating Officer and President North America region. In this position, he rebooted the US market strategy and organization model to enhance connection with multicultural consumers and lifestyle trends. He redefined the brand-market segmentation model and decentralized the organization to regional offices in key city centers to be closer to cultural trends. Baladi joined Beam Suntory in March 2011 as President, Europe Middle East Africa, and became President of the International region in 2015. During this time, he oversaw the P&L of commercial operations in 70+ countries, strengthening positions in developed markets and expanding emerging markets footprint.

Prior to joining Beam Suntory, Baladi worked at Yum! Restaurants International. He served as Managing Director, South Pacific, in Sydney, Australia, leading Yum!’s $1.5B retail sales business across more than 1,000 KFC and Pizza Hut locations. He previously worked at PepsiCo in marketing and general management roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as General Manager, Pepsi-Lipton International with operations in 30+ countries. Early in his career, Baladi worked for Procter & Gamble in a variety of marketing and brand management positions, based in Switzerland and France.

Baladi serves on the CEO Group of the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD), a not-for-profit organization supported by the leading global beer, wine and spirits producers. He previously held the following board positions: Executive Council Member, Scotch Whisky Association; Non-Executive Director, The Macallan; International Advisory Board, Concordia University, NY.
