They can also be used to create aisles between processes and prevent land-locking certain areas of production. They generally feature friction to maintain the orientation of the product and prevent slipping and can offer stability even with increased incline angles.

Mass Flow Spirals are often used to transport round products between filling and packaging. They are also commonly used in operations from bulk depalletization of empty bottles/cans to the filler – and – sending cans or jars to and from a retort operation. Their conveying surface is generally smooth so that the product can smoothly transfer on and off the spiral without tipping. The Mass Flow Spirals will not have as steep of an incline angle.

Both kinds of Spirals can also be configured to provide vertical accumulation allowing beverage companies to create buffers or accumulation zones utilizing vertical space.
