3 Badge Beverage Corp.’s Cedar + Salmon wine brand announced the release of its 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2017 Red Blend varietals. The Cabernet Sauvignon is created from grapes from Horse Heaven Hills, driven by spice-tinged aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, before its soft entry onto the palate leads to a wine of generous structure and balance, it says. The Cedar + Salmon’s 2017 Red Blend is sourced from the southeast corner of Washington State and features 45 percent Merlot, 30 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 percent Petit Verdot, 5 percent Grenache, and 5 percent Cabernet Franc. It has notes of crushed violet, wild berry, allspice and hazelnut aromas, which lead into a full palate of briar blackberry, dark cherry and boysenberry, and layered hints of clove and spiced nuts, it says. Both are available for a suggested retail price of $25.
