Honoring the historic decanters originally used in the mid-1990s, Heaven Hill Distillery is releasing a special Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series featuring a new ornate decanter, it says. Scheduled to be released each spring and fall, the 750-ml private mold decanter features a long neck, sloping indented shoulders and thick bottom. For the packaging design, the distillery closely worked with Saxco International LLC to recreate the look and feel of the Old Fitzgerald diamond decanter used in the 1950s era when the whiskies were bottled in attractive artistic decanters of all shapes and sizes, it adds. The label features a graphic of a key, commemorating the spirit’s original labels and its slogan since the 1940s, “Your key to hospitality.” Kentucky’s state seal and a brand banner replicate a pre-Prohibition label. Spring editions will be decorated with a green label and fall editions will contain a black label. The age will change with each edition and also will be indicated on the bottom of the label. The American whiskey also features a glass top and natural cork assembly closure designed to maintain the whiskey’s class, authenticity and quality. The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series will be available in select U.S. and foreign markets in the 750-ml size on an allocated basis each spring and fall throughout the next five years.
