Pisco Portón LLC added Pisco Portón Acholado to its portfolio. The 43 percent alcohol-by-volume varietal is a pisco acholado, meaning it blends two or more grape varietals allowed by Peruvian law to make pisco, the company says. Pisco Portón Acholado is a smooth, delicate blend of three estate-grown grapes: Quebranta, Italia and Torontel. Available in select markets for a suggested retail price of $34.99, each 750-ml bottle contains 8 pounds of grapes, it adds. On the palate, the grape-based spirit is complex with notes of citrus, herbs and orange blossoms along with impressions of hay and bananas with hints of chocolate and offers a long, smooth and silky finish, the company says.
