Consumer packaged goods manufacturers, food technologists, students and their ilk headed to Chicago’s McCormick Place from July 11 to 14 for the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting and Tradeshow. The show featured a number of general sessions as well as featured lecturer sessions.
On July 12, the Women in Food Science Business Panel explored the changing roles of women in the food industry. The panel featured Liz Myslik, executive vice president of brand management and chief executive officer of Fresca Brands for Fresca Foods Inc.; Sara Mortimore, vice president of product safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs for Land O’Lakes Inc.; and Catherine Woteki, undersecretary for research, education and economics for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
