Lifeway Foods, Kellogg Co. donate to Nepal relief efforts
Beverage companies partner with World Food Programme
Food and beverage companies continue to show their philanthropic sides through donations to disaster relief and humanitarian efforts to support victims of the Nepal-area earthquake on Saturday, April 25. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake killed more than 3,300 people, and the death toll still is expected to rise, USA Today reports. At least 18 were killed and dozens more were injured on Mount Everest, where the quake launched an avalanche, it says.
Both Lifeway Foods Inc., Morton Grove, Ill., and Kellogg Co., Battle Creek, Mich., have announced donations to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
