Diageo names Golden Bar Award winners

Awards presented for excellence in sales, marketing and promoting responsible drinking

Diageo North America, Norwalk, Conn., named the winning spirits, wine and beer distributors of its 11th annual Golden Bar Awards, which took place at a number of events across the country. The Golden Bar Awards are presented for excellence in sales, marketing and promoting responsible drinking.

“Diageo works with the best distributors in the business, and the Golden Bar [Awards] are a way for us to recognize the outstanding performance and hard work that helps to drive the business forward,” said Larry Schwartz, president of Diageo North America, in a statement.

This year, 32 gold awards were presented to distributors and brokers for their performance across Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Baileys,  Captain Morgan, Tanqueray, Crown Royal, Ketel One, Cîroc, Sterling Vineyards, Beaulieau Vineyard, Chalone Vineyard, Acacia Vineyard, Rosenblum Cellars, Guinness, Smithwick’s, Red Stripe and progressive adult beverage (PAB) brands. Gold awards also were given for innovation, consistency and quality. The two platinum awards were given for advancing responsible drinking. The grand prizes went to the distributors of the year.
