Home » Pernod Ricard USA signs new distribution agreements
Pernod Ricard USA, New York, announced the renewal of its partnership with Republic National Distributing Co. (RNDC), Houston, and the expansion of its relationship with Miami-based Southern Wine & Spirits of America Inc., both effective July 1.
RNDC will remain the exclusive distributor for Pernod Ricard USA’s brands in Texas, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Washington, D.C. The distributor also will sell Pernod Ricard wines in Virginia. In Georgia and New Mexico, it will sell the wines under National Distributing Co. Additionally, RNDC will continue to act as an authorized distribution agent for Pernod Ricard USA in Michigan.
The beverage company also announced a territory expansion agreement with Southern Wine & Spirits to 33 markets. The new distribution agreement effectively adds four control states — Alabama, Michigan, Mississippi and Ohio — thus making Southern Wine & Spirits the exclusive spirits broker for Pernod Ricard USA in all 17 control state markets. In addition, the distributor will represent Pernod Ricard USA’s wine and spirits brands in the following 16 markets: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, South Carolina and Washington state. Plus, the new partnership calls for Southern Wine & Spirits to be the broker for Pernod Ricard in the wine control states of Mississippi, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Utah and Wyoming.
Both distribution agreements will “harness the power of our premium brands by enabling both Pernod Ricard USA [and these distributors] to better capitalize on such key business drivers as innovation, multicultural marketing, digital media and the growth of chain stores,” said Pernod Ricard USA President and Chief Executive Officer Bryan Fry in a statement.
