Proximo launched Tincup American Whiskey, which is made with Rocky Mountain water and a blend of corn, rye and malt for a bolder, spicier taste than other American whiskeys, the company says. It is aged in charred American white oak barrels and bottled at 84 proof. Named after an old mining town in Gunnison County, Colo., which itself was named for the tin cups used by miners and whiskey drinkers, Tincup American Whiskey features an actual tin cup as a bottle closure and an embossed, hexagonal shape to reference the Rocky Mountains, it says. The spirit is available in Colorado, Arizona, California, Illinois, New York, Texas and Washington. A 750-ml bottle has a suggested retail price of $27.99.
