Jay Street CoffeeKnown for its ready-to-drink line of Teas’ Tea beverages, Ito En North America Inc. has entered the coffee segment with its new ready-to-drink Jay Street Coffees. Inspired by the Brooklyn neighborhood and street address of the company’s headquarters, Jay Street Coffee is brewed with 100 percent Arabica coffee beans to a medium roast. It is available in Mocha, Latte and Vanilla varieties in 16.9-ounce PET bottles. All three of the coffees contain 180 calories in each bottle.

"Similar to our Teas' Tea and Oi Ocha brands of fresh-brewed, ready-to-drink tea products, we developed the Jay Street Coffee brand to leverage our expertise in fresh-brewed, great-tasting beverages," said Jim Hoagland, executive vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. "The ready-to-drink coffee category is growing at almost 20 percent per year, and we believe that the combination of our state-of-the-art technology to freshly brew an all-natural, shelf-stable coffee in a lightweight PETE bottle will appeal to today's active coffee lover."

Packaging for Jay Street Coffee  depicts Brooklyn motifs, such as the water tower located atop Ito En’s 20 Jay Street building, a historic brownstone window, and a wrought-iron gate.

"Having been based in Brooklyn for over a decade, we are excited to be launching a locally inspired beverage that was conceptualized in our offices on Jay Street," said Rona Tison Sr., vice president of corporate relations, in a statement. "We are proud to be part of the growing community and wanted to honor Brooklyn with this fun, new coffee line."

Jay Street Coffee will be available nationwide in specialty and mainstream markets with a suggested retail price of $2.49. For more information, visit www.jaystreetcoffee.com or www.itoen.com.
