MoonShot beer, a light-bodied pilsner-style brew with 45 mgs. of natural
caffeine, the equivalent of half a cup of coffee, has debuted in Massachusetts
and Atlanta. Developed by Rhonda Kallman, chief executive officer and founder
of New Century Brewing Co., MoonShot is positioned to take advantage
of two consumer goods segments: caffeinated beverages and beer. MoonShot has
128 calories, 9 carbohydrates and 4.8 percent alcohol by volume. The beer's
packaging pays homage to the glory days of airplane nose art. MoonShot is
contract brewed at Matt Brewing Co. in Utica, N.Y., and is being distributed
in Massachusetts by United Liquors Ltd. Each six-pack retails for $6.99 to
$7.49. The brand will be marketed primarily to men 21 to 34 years old. Moonshot New Century Brewing Co.Randolph, Mass. Telephone: 781/963-4007 Distribution: Massachusetts and Atlanta Internet: moonshotbeer.com
