The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), Chicago, saw more than 20,000 attendees attend IFT17, the association’s Annual Conference & Expo, which took place June 25-28 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. This year’s theme, Go With Purpose, highlighted the latest research, solutions, innovations and trends, including clean labels, sweeteners and sugar-reduction solutions, as well as plant-based alternatives. In addition to various speakers, more than 100 scientific sessions and 700 poster presentations, the expo featured more than 1,200 exhibitors. The following are some of the beverage highlights from IFT17:

At the recent Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, many exhibitors showcased new ingredients and flavors, clean-label applications, sugar-reduction solutions, and plant-based products that support enhanced performance, cognitive and digestive health, and much more.
In the beverage, supply chain and packaging markets, tradeshow season is in full swing. I recently attended ProMat and ProFood Tech at McCormick Place in Chicago, and will be heading to Las Vegas later this month to attend the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo, which will take place June 26-28.

Beneo, Morris Plains, N.J., announced that it will focus on healthier snacking at this year’s IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo, taking place June 25-28. The company will present natural, clean-label solutions that respond to consumer trends, including sugar replacement, healthy weight, digestive health and improved energy, the company says.
Prinova USA, Carol Stream, Ill., announced a new distributorship with Apiscent Labs, Milwaukee. Prinova will be the exclusive distributor of Apiscent Labs’ flavor and fragrance ingredients in the United States, the company says.

The annual show will take place July 16-19 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Consumer packaged goods manufacturers, food technologists, students and their ilk headed to Chicago’s McCormick Place from July 11 to 14 for the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting and Tradeshow. The show featured a number of general sessions as well as featured lecturer sessions.
