J.W. Child Associates, a Boston-based private equity firm and the owner of Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC), has agreed to sell SDBC to Brynwood Partners VII L.P., Greenwich, Conn., for an undisclosed amount pending regulatory approval. SDBC, a Cincinnati-based company, was formed by J.W. Childs in 2004 when it acquired the SunnyD brand from The Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati.

Sunny Delight Beverages Co., Cincinnati, announced the test market launch of SunnyD X, a carbonated juice drink designed as an alternative to energy drinks. Available in Orange, Lemon Lime and Fruit Punch flavors, the beverage lineup offers energy from B vitamins and carbohydrates instead of caffeine.

SodaStream International Ltd., Airport City, Israel, announced a strategic agreement with Sunny Delight Beverages Co., Cincinnati, to co-develop SunnyD Tangy Original Orange, Orange-Strawberry and additional flavors exclusively for the SodaStream home beverage carbonation system.
Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC), Cincinnati, released its fifth annual sustainability report, which showcases the company’s progress toward its sustainability goals. During 2012, SDBC completed an $85 million state-of-the-art reinvention project aimed at improving every SDBC plant and product, enabling it to realize the efficiency, sustainability and economic benefits of its largest initiative ever, it says.
