White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA’s Strongbow Hard Apple Cider is gearing up to make this fall Strongbow Season with a fully integrated, 360-degree program that encourages consumers of legal drinking age to experience Strongbow at its “bestest” when it is served over ice, the company says. The program includes national TV advertising, targeted digital media, social media engagements and point-of-sale (POS) materials designed to drive purchase of Strongbow’s four flavors all season long, it adds.
As beer consumers have been looking to trade up and explore new flavors, the imported beer segment has been enjoying growth. In fact, the imported beer segment grew about 8.4 percent in dollar sales in the 52 weeks ending Dec. 28, 2014, in channels measured by Chicago-based Information Resources Inc.

White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA, which acquired import rights to the Strongbow Hard Cider brand in January 2013, is phasing out the original Strongbow Hard Cider recipe in place of the new Strongbow Gold Apple Hard Cider and Strongbow Honey & Apple Hard Cider. In a blind taste test conducted last year by Rogil Research, both men and women noted that they strongly preferred the new crisp, refreshing flavor profile of Strongbow Gold Apple, the company says.
